How to use tigerTXT.

  1. AVAILABLE FROM JULY 2008.
  2. Create a new SMS message and send the name of the palce where you want info, eg send CAIRNS
  3. For specific info on hostels or tours, start with the word HOSTELS or TOURS. Followed by the place.
  4. Send the SMS to 0428 467 835 (0428 hostel) (Available from July 2008)
  5. Wait about 30 seconds and you'll receive your reply.

Handy tips...

  • Ensure your phone settings allow it to receive MMS messages (see your phone shop if having trouble).
  • Send your message in upper or lower case, TOURS DARWIN, tours darwin etc.
  • Seperate the words with a space.
  • tigerTXT will recognise most spelling errors for the regions.
  • Try regions, towns and national parks, example TOURS KAKADU, HOSTELS FRASER ISLAND.
  • Register your phone for added functionality, for example information in your language.

The tigerTXT number to which you send your SMS (0428 467 835) is a standard Telstra mobile number, most pre paid phone plans in Australia have free SMS options to this type of number, see the phone plan details below.

  • You may SOMETIMES get charged to send an SMS to tigerTXT by your phone company, it all depends what plan you are on, check the phone plans below.
  • You DO NOT get charged to receive tigerTXT SMS or MMS picture messages.
  • You DO NOT get charged to join tigerTXT, you don't even have to join, just start using it.
  • You DO NOT get charged if you decide to register your phone number with tigerTXT.
  • tigerTXT will NEVER charge you anything to access our information.
